Bombe Cabriole Table Base Profile

A softly swelling silhouette that turns a flat board into a piece of furniture. This is a shaped side profile, the outline of a small bombé cabinet or side table rendered as one smooth panel. The body bulges gently at the top like a traditional serpentine chest, then draws in at the waist before flaring out into two splayed feet, with a shallow arched apron scooped out between them. Every edge is rounded and soft, so there is not a hard corner anywhere; the whole thing reads as a single continuous curve. Cut a mirrored pair and you have the two ends of a little cabinet, plant stand, doll's-house console or bedside table; cut one on its own and it works as a decorative bracket or shelf end. CNC / print notes: • Essentially a 2.5D profile, so a simple pocket-and-profile toolpath cuts it from sheet stock; break the outer edge with a roundover bit to match the soft modelled look. • Good in 12 to 18 mm ply, MDF or hardwood, and you can laminate two layers for a chunkier foot. • For 3D printing, lay it flat on the bed, no supports needed, and run two mirrored copies for a matching pair. • Watch the narrow ankle above each foot: keep the material generous there so it is not a weak point under load.
