Description

A cascade of baroque scrollwork crowned with a single blossom. This carved onlay is a tall, tapering ornament built for furniture and cabinetry. The composition drops from a slender fleur-de-lis finial at the top, opens into a fan of pointed acanthus leaves, then flows through mirrored C-scrolls that frame a crisp five-petal flower at the heart. Below, the scrolls sweep outward into a broad open cartouche, closing on a fluted shell motif and pairs of small budding tips at the base. Every curve is symmetrical and deeply undercut, catching light and shadow in equal measure. Mounted vertically, it dresses drawer fronts, headboards, mirror surrounds, mantels or door panels with an unmistakably classical, Louis-style flourish. Furniture restorers and cabinet builders will find it an easy way to add hand-carved character without the chisel work. Print or machine notes: • Cut in hardwood (oak, walnut, beech) as an appliqué, or route in dense MDF for a paintable, gilt-ready result. • The pierced openings between scrolls need a fine ball-nose finishing pass and a tab-out plan so the delicate loops survive release. • On a resin or FDM print, lay it flat on the back face and enjoy support-free relief; scale the height to suit your panel. • Prime and glaze, or wax over stain, to sink pigment into the recesses and lift the raised leaf edges.
