Description

A graceful scrolled onlay to lift plain furniture into something heirloom. This relief is a vertical, mirror-symmetrical flourish: two acanthus scrolls sweep up and outward at the crown like unfurling leaves, drawn together at the waist by a slender central rib, then bloom at the base into a pair of tight volute curls cradling a small dropped bead. The overall silhouette reads like a stylised lyre or teardrop, with soft rounded modelling that plays light and shadow across every curve. It's built for CNC routing or carving as a decorative appliqué — cabinet doors, headboards, mantel centres, mirror crowns, clock cases or drawer fronts. Equally at home milled in oak or walnut, or 3D-printed and glued on before painting or gilding. Cut and finish notes: • Supplied as a 3D relief (STL): ideal for a CNC router with a roughing pass, then a 2–3mm ball-nose tool for the scroll detail. • Run the grain vertically to reduce break-out on the thin volute tips; leave onion-skin tabs and hand-release afterwards. • For 3D printing, lay it flat and face-up on the bed — no supports — with fine 0.12mm layers to keep the flowing crests smooth. • Lightly sand the raised crests, then stain, paint or gold-leaf; a dark glaze wiped into the recesses and back off the highs really pops the depth. Mirror it or pair with matching corner pieces for a full, coordinated furniture set.
