Description

A curvy little bombe nightstand with all the swagger of a French antique. The model captures a classic Louis XV-style commode form: a rounded, bulging body that swells out at the hips, a serpentine drawer front split by a fine seam, a scalloped apron along the bottom edge, and four slender cabriole legs that curve outward with real elegance. It's a graceful, ornamental piece of furniture shrunk down to model scale. Perfect for dolls' houses, roomboxes and miniature-scene builders, or as a design study and display maquette for anyone who loves period furniture; it could even be scaled up into a jewellery-box or trinket-drawer shell. Print notes • Print upright on the base of the legs, with supports under the apron and the curved leg overhangs, as those are the delicate spots. • Resin gives the cleanest legs and drawer seam at 1:12 or smaller dolls'-house scale; FDM is fine at larger sizes with 0.12mm layers. • The thin cabriole legs are the weak point; orient to minimise cross-section stress and handle gently after printing. • Sand the broad curved faces smooth, then prime and paint in cream-and-gold, dark walnut or a distressed antique finish. Add tiny drawer knobs and a coat of satin varnish and it looks the part on any miniature bedside. Scales neatly across 1:12, 1:24 and 1:48.
