Plain Round Disc Blank

A quiet round blank that lets the wood do the talking. This model is a simple circular disc — a low puck shown from a shallow angle, with a gently raised lip running around the top edge and an otherwise flat, unadorned face. No pattern, no figure, no mandala: just clean geometry and a crisp stepped border. That plainness is the whole point. It is the piece you reach for when you want a foundation rather than a finished flourish — a coaster, a candle or vase plate, the rotating top of a small lazy-Susan, a plinth for a bust or centrepiece, or a fresh canvas to route your own monogram, motif or inlay into later. On a CNC router it cuts fast and forgivingly: the profile is essentially a facing pass plus a rounded-over rim, so even a modest machine handles it in hardwood, ply or MDF. For FDM or resin it sits flat on the bed with no supports, the raised edge printing cleanly as a shallow natural overhang. Print / cut notes: • Face the flat side down (print) or clamp flat and surface the top first (CNC). • Leave the top proud if you intend to carve into it afterwards. • A light sand plus a wipe of oil or wax lifts the grain on a wooden cut; filler-primer smooths FDM layer lines before paint. Scale is entirely yours — set the diameter to whatever the disc needs to hold.
