Scalloped Serpentine Window Valance

An elegant scalloped valance with a swaying serpentine edge. This is a long ornamental valance, or pelmet, rather than a tray or mandala. A slim framed border runs across the top, and beneath it a raised moulding sweeps down in a wave, dipping to a deep central swag and rising to gentle crests at either end. The profile is smooth and softly beaded, in the restrained classical style you find on window pelmets, cabinet aprons and the crest rails of period furniture. Rendered in warm timber tones, it looks made to be carved from oak or pine. Use it as a decorative header above a window, doorway or wardrobe, as the apron skirt under a shelf or mantel, or as a repeating trim along cabinetry. Its horizontal format tiles neatly end to end for longer runs. Print / cut notes • Perfect for CNC: a large roughing pass followed by a ball-nose finishing pass captures the rounded moulding and undercuts cleanly. • For 3D printing, lay it face-up and flat; the low relief prints support-free. • Mirror or repeat the file to build symmetrical, wider valances for larger openings. • Sand along the wave to keep the swag crisp, then stain or paint to match existing joinery.
