Description

A clean, edge-on look at a softly rounded tray frame — all profile, no fuss. The preview catches this piece almost side-on, so what you see is the crisp moulded lip of a long rounded-rectangle tray or frame blank. The top edge steps down through a shallow ogee before rolling to the rounded end caps, giving the rim that classic serving-tray or picture-frame silhouette. There is no surface ornament here — the appeal is the smooth continuous profile and the gentle radius on every corner, rendered in warm gold against black. Think of it as a base or surround you finish yourself: a valet tray, a soap or catch-all dish, a base plate for a clock or a name sign, or a frame you drop a photo or mirror into. Left plain it reads modern and understated; add your own centre relief and it becomes a bespoke plaque. CNC / print notes • The moulded rim is the whole job — profile it with a round-over or ogee bit run around the perimeter, then flatten the field pocket with a surfacing pass. • Radiused corners cut smoothest with a small-diameter bit; slow the feed on the end curves to avoid burn marks in hardwood. • If printing, lay it flat with the rim up, 0.2 mm layers, and no supports; the shallow moulding bridges fine. • Finish with a wipe-on oil or satin lacquer to bring out the rounded edge highlights.
