Description

Two facing scrolls that roll into tight spiral eyes. This is a slender vertical scroll ornament — a pair of long, tapering C-curves set nose to nose, each one finishing in a crisply wound volute at both ends. The upper curve arcs one way and terminates in a snail-shell spiral; the lower mirrors it, so together they trace a graceful elongated S with four rolled eyes and a subtle gap at the waist. The relief is smoothly rounded and gently domed off the back, catching light along the length of each sweep. It's an elegant, restrained flourish rather than a busy motif. Use it as an applied onlay: the centre of a cabinet door, a headboard crest, a clock case, a mirror crown, or paired left-and-right as brackets flanking a panel. Being long and narrow, it fits stiles, rails and column faces neatly. Print notes / CNC notes • Machine flat with the relief up; a ball-nose finishing pass keeps the domed curves and spiral centres smooth — slow the feed into the tight volute eyes. • Mirror the STL to make a matching opposite for symmetrical pairs on either side of a centrepiece. • Close-grained hardwood carves the spiral eyes cleanly; a fine tapered bit reaches into the wound centres without tearout. • To resin-print it as an appliqué, lay it flat, support only the raised waist, and glue to the workpiece once cured; a gilt wax over a dark base makes the scrolls glow. A quiet, classical accent that dresses up an otherwise plain face.
