Acanthus Leaf Trim Strip

A slim run of carved foliage for edges that deserve more than a plain moulding. This is a long, narrow vertical onlay: a repeating chain of leaf clusters where broad, veined acanthus-style leaves fold outward in pairs, separated by pierced teardrop openings and small round beads that punctuate the rhythm down the strip. The relief is generous and rounded, tapering to a leafy point at each end so it finishes cleanly wherever it's cut. Think of it as trim: apply it vertically down a cabinet stile, a pilaster, a mirror or clock case, a bed post or a fireplace leg. The repeat means you can shorten or lengthen the run to suit the piece. CNC notes • The design is narrow and tall — nest it along the length of your stock and keep the grain running the long way to protect the thin leaf tips. • Rough with a ball-nose, then a fine ball or tapered bit to clear the pierced teardrops and sharpen the leaf veins. • If you want a true openwork onlay, cut the teardrop voids all the way through; for applied trim, leave them as shallow pockets. • Sand gently along the leaf ridges only, so the recesses keep their depth and shadow. • Scales down nicely for resin printing when you need small furniture appliqués or restoration parts.
