Fan-Shell Scroll Corbel Bracket

A fluted shell that fans open above a rolled scroll — a proper decorative corbel to carry a shelf or dress a doorway. The face is dominated by a pleated, fan-like shell radiating from a single round boss at its base, each flute deepening as it sweeps upward. Above it a fat rounded scroll curls back on itself, and a stepped base moulding closes the bottom, giving the bracket real three-dimensional weight from every angle. This is a support and an ornament at once: mount it under a mantel shelf, a countertop overhang, a range hood or a run of crown moulding, or use a matched pair as bookend-style brackets. Print / CNC notes • Ideal for a 3-axis router in a thick hardwood blank; the deep fluting wants a ball-nose finishing pass with a tight stepover to keep the flutes smooth. • Rotary or 4-axis carving suits the rounded scroll if you want the sides fully modelled. • Printing instead? Stand it on its flat back with the shell facing up, supports only under the scroll's overhang. • Leave extra stock on the mounting face so you can flatten and screw-fix it to the wall or cabinet.
