Art Nouveau Vertical Door Onlay

Art-nouveau scrollwork stretched tall for a door or cabinet. A slender vertical relief panel framed by a pair of sweeping, hand-drawn curves that swell and pinch like a stretched hourglass, tied together top and bottom with looping scroll flourishes and anchored at the waist by two small carved rosettes. The centre field is left smooth and open, so the raised border does all the talking: an elegant, faintly Victorian motif that reads well from across a room. It is designed as a decorative onlay or a carved inset. Mount it on a cupboard door, a headboard, a wardrobe panel, a fire surround or a bathroom mirror to lift a flat surface into something ornamental. The empty middle also makes a natural spot to add a monogram, house number or short name later. Cut and print notes • For CNC, a tapered ball-nose finishing pass gives the border its soft rounded relief; run a larger bit for roughing first to save time. • A depth of around 6 to 12 mm suits most furniture-scale work; scale the height in your CAM to fit the panel you are dressing. • Printed flat and face up in 3D, it needs no supports and paints up beautifully with a wood-effect or gilt finish. • Mirror the file to make a matching left and right pair for symmetrical doors.
