Diamond Lozenge Border Moulding

A slim run of trim that turns a plain edge into something considered. This is a long, low-relief border moulding built from a repeating chain of elongated diamonds: stretched lozenges that meet point-to-point along the strip, with a small raised bead sitting at each junction where the diamonds pinch together. The relief is shallow and clean, catching a soft line of light along every faceted ridge, so it reads as understated rather than fussy. Use it as a linear accent: a cap-rail or frieze on cabinetry, a picture-frame edge, drawer-front trim, a mirror surround, or a horizontal band across wall panelling. Because the pattern is a simple repeat you can cut it to any length and butt sections together seamlessly. CNC / print notes • Ideal for a router as a shallow 3D relief in a fine-grained hardwood or MDF; a small ball-nose bit picks out the bead and the crisp diamond ridges. • Keep the depth of cut modest. The design relies on subtle facets, so over-cutting flattens the effect. • For 3D printing, lay it flat on the bed and run it in one pass; scale the length to your run and the profile height to match your trim stock. • Sand lightly along the grain and it takes stain, gilding or paint evenly; a dark glaze wiped into the recesses really pops the lozenges.
