Description

A four-petal scroll blooming symmetrically around a single round boss. This is a decorative onlay — four curling leaf-scrolls arranged like a quatrefoil, each hollowed into a deep concave sweep, meeting at a raised sphere in the dead centre. It is the sort of carved applique that dresses the crest of a headboard, the apron of a cabinet or the panel of a heavy door, and the deep undercut recesses give it real dimensional shadow rather than a flat stamp. It is built for CNC routers and carvers who want a ready-made ornament to inlay or surface-mount onto furniture and millwork, but it also 3D-prints cleanly as an appliqué you can glue and paint to match timber. Print / cut notes: • For CNC, run a roughing pass then a fine ball-nose finishing pass to render the smooth concave hollows; hardwoods like oak, walnut or maple hold the crisp edges best. • Mind the depth of the central boss when setting Z clearance so the raised sphere keeps its full roundness. • For 3D printing, lay it face-up on the bed with no supports at 0.12-0.16mm for a carved look, then stain or gild. • Mirror or repeat the motif along a rail for a matching set of ornaments.
