Cascading Volute Scroll Onlay

A ribbon of smooth, looping scrollwork that spills down a panel like poured cream. This is a vertical ornamental relief built from a chain of rounded volutes - a large open loop at the top unspools into three progressively smaller coils, each with a soft dimpled eye at its centre, before the whole thing tapers to a single dangling bead at the foot. There are no sharp edges anywhere; every curve is rounded over into a fat, tactile bead of material that catches light along its crest, giving it a soft, almost liquid look. It is designed as a decorative applique rather than a standalone piece. Use it as a carved onlay for furniture - a cabinet door, a headboard, a drawer front - or as a repeating vertical accent down a pilaster or mirror frame. It suits both classic and modern joinery because the forms are clean and abstract rather than fussy. Cut & print notes • For CNC, a ball-nose bit follows these rounded channels beautifully; finish with a light sanding pass to keep the sheen even. • Mirror the file to make a matching left/right pair for symmetrical layouts. • As a 3D print it comes off the bed cleanly face-up with no supports; glue straight onto the workpiece. • Scale the height to your panel; the depth reads well from around 6mm upward.
