Slim Curved Crest Molding Strip

A long, whisper-thin accent that adds a hint of shape to an otherwise flat run of trim. The piece is a slender horizontal strip, gently bowed along its length, that rises to a small softly-peaked crest right at the centre. The ends square off into short flat tabs, and the whole profile stays low and shallow — this is subtlety, not a bold carving. Seen edge-on it has the quiet cyma-like swell of a fine cabinet molding rather than an ornate applied onlay. Use it as a drawer-front accent, an apron rail below a tabletop, a topper across a mirror or picture frame, or a delicate divider between panels. Its restraint makes it easy to repeat along a length without the design ever feeling busy. Cut / print notes • Because the relief is so shallow, run a fine tapered V-bit or small ball-nose for a clean centre crest; a coarse bit will lose the peak. • The strip is mirror-symmetric, so you can cut it in pairs facing inward to flank a central motif. • In wood, a close-grained species takes the softened edges without tear-out; ease the arris lightly by hand afterwards. • If 3D printing, lay it flat on the bed — no supports needed — and print in fine layers so the gentle curve stays smooth rather than stepped.
