Description

A clean sweep of moulding, waiting for your own lettering. This long, low-relief apron reads like the underskirt of a fine cabinet or a header board above a doorway: a dead-straight top rail that eases down into a soft, symmetrical wave along the bottom edge, with the whole field held inside a slim raised border. The centre is left deliberately smooth and empty, and that is the point of it, a ready-made canvas for a surname, a house number, an "est. 1888", or a single line of script. The piece is wide, shallow and unfussy, which makes it as much practical trim as decoration. Fit it as a valance beneath a floating shelf, cap a headboard, dress the apron rail of a console, or simply hang it on its own as a carved sign once you have added text. Because the relief is even and gentle, it cuts fast and behaves itself in oak, walnut, poplar or a sheet of MDF for painting. Print / CNC notes: • Machine flat on the bed; the whole model sits within a single shallow Z depth, so a quick roughing pass plus one finishing pass is plenty. • Leave the middle blank on the first cut, then V-carve your personalised text as a second toolpath so lettering stays crisp. • A 60 or 90 degree V-bit gives clean border walls; break the outer edges lightly by hand before finishing. • Seal and paint, or stain and wax, to lift the framed border away from the recessed field.
