Description
A slow, confident curve that softens any hard corner. D 569 is a decorative corner moulding: a squared L-foot that seats cleanly into a 90-degree join, then releases a long, tapering arm that sweeps up and away in a generous quarter-circle. Two fine bead lines chase the curve from foot to tip, giving the profile a layered, stepped section that reads as light and shadow once it is cut in timber. It is the kind of ornament you fit to the top corner of a glazed cabinet, an over-mantel, a mirror surround or a grand door casing — and a mirrored pair, one left-hand and one right-hand, turns a flat rectangle into something with real architecture. The model is built as relief on a flat base, so it suits a 3-axis router with no undercut trickery required. Print notes • Cut in a close-grained hardwood such as maple, cherry or tulipwood so the bead detail holds crisp edges. • Rough with a 6mm end mill, then finish the curves and beads with a 1.5–2mm tapered ball-nose for smooth flowing toolpaths. • Watch grain direction along the sweeping arm — climb-cut the outer edge to avoid tear-out on that long span. • Mirror the file to produce the opposite-hand corner; sand 120 through 240 before oiling, waxing or gilding.
