Description

A clean, quiet circle — the blank canvas of the workshop. This model is a shallow round dish: a smooth concave well sunk inside a raised, gently bevelled rim, with no pattern or engraving anywhere on it. The form is deliberately minimal, all soft curves and a crisp lip, the sort of understated bowl or catch-all tray that suits a modern table as easily as a turner's showcase piece. Use it as a fruit or bread bowl, a valet tray for keys and coins by the door, a ring dish, or a serving platter blank you finish with your own carved or inlaid centre. Because it is smooth and symmetrical, it is also a perfect base to personalise — add a monogram, an engraved motif or a resin-filled inlay. CNC & print notes • Turns or machines cleanly from a single hardwood blank; a round-over on the rim softens the edge for handling. • On a router, use a large ball-nose for the concave sweep, then a fine finishing pass to erase tool lines before oiling. • Printing it: run it right-side-up with a brim; no supports needed, and vase mode suits a decorative-only version. • Seal with food-safe oil or wax if it will hold anything edible.
