Description

A cascade of carved roses swagged between two ribboned bows. This is a symmetrical decorative relief: two tied bows at the top corners spill trailing ribbons and dense bouquets of full-blown roses, daisies and five-petal blossoms, all bound with foliage into a gentle garland that dips to a central rose and a looping ribbon banner below. It's the sort of ornate floral applique you find on period furniture, fireplace surrounds and cabinet doors. It's aimed squarely at CNC routing and decorative woodworking — an onlay to enrich a headboard, mantel, door panel, mirror frame or wedding-styled signage. Printed rather than cut, it doubles as a resin or FDM appliqué you can glue and paint onto existing furniture. Cut & print notes: • On a CNC router, rough with an end mill then finish the deep flower centres and undercuts with a tapered ball-nose bit; a hardwood like oak, walnut or lime carves crisply and takes gilding well. • Watch the tool reach around the deepest petals — a longer, slender finishing bit avoids collet rub on the high-relief roses. • For 3D printing, resin resolves the petal detail beautifully; on FDM, lay it flat and support the deepest pockets, then fill and sand. • The piece is bilaterally symmetrical, so it centres neatly on a panel — finish with paint, wax or gold leaf to suit the room.
