Ornate Arabesque Scrollwork Panel

A framed flourish of scrollwork, poised like wrought iron rendered in wood. This carved panel sets a symmetrical arabesque centrepiece inside a clean, recessed rectangular frame. From a central palmette — a small lotus-like bloom — pairs of tapering scrolls sweep outward into tight curling volutes, while slender pointed finials rise above and drop below to give the motif a vertical diamond spine. The relief is crisp and layered, reading almost like forged filigree laid over a smoothly sanded ground. It suits a cabinet-door inset, a headboard centrepiece, an over-door plaque, or a standalone framed wall piece in a period or boutique interior. CNC notes • Cut in tight-grained hardwood — maple, cherry, walnut — or dense MDF for painted work; both hold the fine detail. • Rough with a larger end mill, then finish the scroll interiors with a 2–3mm tapered ball nose. • The pointed finials are the most fragile passes; climb-cut them and leave a light finishing allowance. • A stain-and-wipe or dark glaze pooled in the recesses makes the raised scrollwork leap forward.
