A symmetrical wooden jewel — an open beaded ring wreathed in petals, cradled by sweeping acanthus wings. The centrepiece is a raised oval ring built from radiating tongue-and-bead segments, like a laurel medallion left hollow at its heart; from each side unfurl mirrored acanthus scrolls and feathered leaf tips that stretch the piece into a long horizontal band. Balanced and refined, it's made to sit dead-centre and draw the eye. Think cabinet doors, headboards, drawer fronts, over-mantels and mirror crowns — anywhere a horizontal centrepiece lifts a plain surface. CNC and print notes: • Designed as a relief appliqué: carve in hardwood such as oak, maple or walnut, roughing with a ball nose before a fine tapered ball picks out the bead detail. • Keep the ring's central void clean with a small V-bit pass. • The mirror-symmetry keeps toolpaths simple and makes the layout easy to widen or repeat. • For 3D printing, lay it flat face-up, use fine layers with no supports, then glue in place and finish — paint, stain or gild to taste.
