Diamond Rosette Scroll Applique

A jewelled diamond crowned and footed with curling scrollwork. At the heart of this vertical appliqué sits a raised rosette — a round central boss ringed by radiating petal-and-bead detail — enclosed within a slim beaded diamond border. Above and below, symmetrical sprays of acanthus scrolls fan out and roll back on themselves, tapering into pointed finials top and bottom. Cut & print notes: • A layered deep-relief carve: rough the whole panel, then use a small ball-nose to bring up the rosette beading and the fine scroll veins. • Close-grained timbers — pear, lime, cherry — hold the crisp bead border and petal detail best. • Printing instead? Lay it flat and face up; the relief needs no supports at 0.12–0.16 mm layers. • Mount with glue and light clamping pressure, then finish to match the host — a wiped dark glaze in the recesses makes the rosette and scrolls pop.
