Arched Cartouche Furniture Crest

An arched cartouche crest for crowning furniture and doorways. This CNC relief is a symmetrical decorative pediment: a gently domed, ogee-profiled top rail sweeps up to a low central peak, and beneath it a smooth panel is centred on a raised oval boss framed by unfurling acanthus scrolls and beaded tendrils. The mouldings are stepped and layered for strong shadow lines, while the flat central shield is left blank for a monogram, date or motif of your own. Ideal as a bed-headboard topper, a wardrobe or cabinet crown, an over-mirror crest or a doorway overpanel in a classical interior. Print notes: • Cut on a 3-axis router in a close-grained hardwood — oak, beech, walnut or lime — sized to the width of the piece it will crown. • Rough with a 6 mm end mill, then finish the scrolls and oval with a 2–3 mm tapered ball-nose for clean acanthus detail. • Mind the depth on the raised oval boss so the finishing pass doesn't leave step lines across its dome. • Sand, then stain or gild the ornament and wax the flat ground for contrast; it also scales down neatly as a cast resin appliqué.
