Fleur-de-Lis Floral Crest Onlay

An overflowing wide crest where carved roses spill from horns of acanthus around a shield of three fleur-de-lis. This horizontal relief is pure ornamental abundance. At its heart sits a raised oval cartouche carrying three fleur-de-lis in a classic heraldic arrangement, ringed by a beaded frame and topped with a cluster of full-blown roses and mixed blossoms. From either side, deeply undercut acanthus leaves scroll outward and downward like unfurling waves, while tucked flower baskets and trailing buds fill the corners. A neat ribbon bow ties off the base of the shield. The depth of carving is generous — leaves lift well clear of the ground, throwing real shadow. It is made to dress a piece of furniture or architecture: a headboard crown, cabinet or door pediment, mantel centre, or mirror topper for anyone after a rococo, French-provincial flourish. Print / CNC notes • On a CNC router this needs a fine ball-nose finishing pass (2mm or smaller) to resolve the rose petals and acanthus veins; leave stepover tight. • Watch the undercuts — a 3-axis machine will flatten the deepest leaf tips, so plan carve depth accordingly or accept a shallower relief. • Printing? Lay it flat on the back face, no supports needed; 0.12mm layers keep the petal edges clean. • Beautiful in oak, lime or walnut; a dark wax in the recesses makes the raised flowers read from across the room.
