Description

A single acanthus leaf cascades down the face of a tapered corbel. This is a fully three-dimensional wall bracket. Up top sits a projecting shelf with a moulded cornice cap, ready to carry a load. The body tapers inward as it drops, and across its front a broad acanthus leaf splits and droops in long, ribbed lobes that spill toward the foot. Underneath, a row of turned beads — a fat central sphere flanked by two smaller ones on a spindle — finishes the corbel with a satisfying full stop. It's the classic support ornament: prop a shelf or mantel, dress the underside of a range hood, bracket a cabinet or countertop, or use it purely as architectural trim beside a doorway. Print / CNC notes: • This has genuine depth and curvature — a 4-axis / rotary setup or a 3D print handles the full form best. • If you're 2.5D routing just the decorated front face, rough with a ball-nose, then detail the leaf tips with a fine tapered bit. • The bead row wants a round-nose bit to keep the spheres true. • Choose a dense hardwood if the corbel will actually bear weight rather than just decorate.
