Description

A running ribbon of carved blooms and curling acanthus, built to trim anything that needs a flourish. This long, low relief reads as a classic horizontal border: two big scrolling volutes anchor the ends while a central open-faced flower — think wild rose or cosmos — sits proud at the middle, flanked by a fuller peony-like cluster and scattered buds. Acanthus leaves unfurl and overlap between them, their veined edges catching the light, so the whole strip has that hand-carved Baroque flow rather than a stamped, repeating look. It is designed to run along the top rail of a headboard, a fireplace surround, a cabinet frieze or a length of picture-frame stock, and it tiles reasonably well end to end if you need a longer run. Print notes • Cut into hardwood (oak, walnut, beech) or carve paint-grade MDF/HDPE; the depth suits a 2.5D V-carve strategy. • Rough with a larger end mill, then finish the flower centres and leaf veins with a fine tapered ball nose for crisp detail. • Keep the blank slightly oversized and run the grain along the length so the long scrolls do not chip out. • A dark wax or glaze pushed into the recesses will make the foliage pop. Equally at home 3D-printed as a wall appliqué if you would rather not fire up the router.
