Rosette and Dentil Scroll Frieze

A carved frieze centres on a round rosette, framed by mirrored scrolls and toothed borders. This is a horizontal decorative moulding: a six-petal rosette blooms at the middle, flanked left and right by symmetrical S-scroll acanthus flourishes, all bounded top and bottom by neat dentil blocks. It is a clean, classical relief — the kind of ornamental trim run along cornices, furniture rails, door headers and mantel friezes. It is made for CNC routers and relief carvers dressing cabinetry, fireplace surrounds, headboards and picture frames, and it tiles: the scroll ends run out to the edges so repeated lengths join into a continuous band. Print / CNC notes • On a router, cut in a tight-grained hardwood such as maple, cherry or beech with a large area-clearance pass followed by a fine 2–3 mm ball-nose finishing pass to round the scroll rolls and rosette petals. • Keep the blank flat on the bed and watch the stepover across the dentil teeth so the small blocks stay square. • Scale the length to your run and mirror-tile as needed; check the border height matches your existing trim before committing. • For 3D printing, lay it face-up and print flat with near-zero supports, then prime and gild or paint to imitate carved wood or plaster.
