Palmette Shell And Scroll Centerpiece

A crowned shell fan at the heart, C-scrolls sweeping out to a pair of tidy rosettes — a classic horizontal centrepiece. At the middle sits a scalloped, dished cartouche holding a raised palmette fan bound at its foot by twin bead-rings; from behind it, generous C-scrolls roll outward in both directions, each terminating in a small four-petal flower. The result is a long, low, perfectly mirrored band made to run along a rail and anchor a whole panel. It reads best across a cabinet rail, a drawer front, a headboard or an over-mantel, wherever you want a formal focal point. CNC and print notes: • The dished centre wants a ball nose to hollow cleanly before you detail the fan ribs with a fine tapered bit. • Keep the scroll eyes crisp with a small V-carve so the spirals stay legible. • The symmetric layout makes tiling or lengthening the band straightforward. • For 3D printing, orient flat and face-up with supports only under the scroll overhangs, then sand, prime and paint or gild.
