Description

An ornamental onlay where a sweeping arc meets a pair of feathered scrolls. This CNC relief is an asymmetric decorative panel: a tall shape with a squared left edge and a quarter-round top-right corner, pierced near the top by a curved slot that echoes the outer profile. The lower third is where the character lives a raised horseshoe arch flanked by two mirrored volute scrolls, each fanned with fine radiating ridges before curling into a tight spiral, like stylised wings or wrought-iron corbels. It reads as a decorative appliqué or corbel the sort of accent you would inlay into a cabinet door, a headboard, a mantel or a bespoke sign surround. The bold arc paired with the scrollwork gives it an Art Deco-meets-classical feel that works for modern furniture and period restoration alike. Carve / print notes: • The spirals and feathered ridges are the star; run a fine ball-nose finishing pass (1-1.5mm) so the curls stay sharp. • Keep the arc slot's inner corners clean by climbing in with a small bit rather than plunging straight down. • A great candidate for a two-tone finish paint or stain the raised scrollwork and leave the field lighter, or reverse it. • If FDM printing as an onlay, lay it face-up and flat; the shallow relief needs no supports and glues neatly onto a flat carrier panel.
