Description

A heraldic lily rendered in crisp, sculptural relief. This model is a classic fleur-de-lis, that centuries-old French royal emblem, carved as a raised decorative onlay rather than the celtic lattice its old code suggests. A tall central plume rises to a pointed crest, flanked by two side petals that curl outward and taper into elegant hooked tips. A banded collar cinches the three leaves at the waist, and below it a slender inverted petal drops down as a pendant finial. The surface is smoothly rounded with softly beveled edges, so light rolls across it and reads cleanly from across a room. It suits anyone dressing a piece in a traditional, French-provincial or Gothic register: mount it as a headboard centre, a cabinet-door medallion, a newel-post face, a mantel crest or a repeated motif down a set of drawer fronts. Because the design is bilaterally symmetric, you never need a mirrored copy. Print / CNC notes • Machines beautifully in oak, walnut or maple; a ball-nose finishing pass keeps the rolled petal edges smooth. • For 3D printing, lay it flat on its back face so the relief points up; this needs almost no support. • Resin captures the fine collar bands best, but PLA at 0.12 mm and a quick sand works well for larger sizes. • Scale to roughly 120-200 mm tall for furniture; gild or dark-wax the recesses to make the form pop.
