Description

A long rococo sash of shell and scroll, anchored by a jewel-like oval. This appliqué runs wide and low, built for the centre of something horizontal. At its heart sits a raised oval cabochon ringed by a scalloped, petal-like frame; above it a fan-shaped shell rises like a little crown, and from either side the design streams outward in mirrored C-scrolls and volutes that taper to neat curled finials at each end. The relief is smooth and confident — more polished rococo than rustic, all flowing curves and not a straight line in sight. No signage or mandala, whatever the code implies. Mount it across the centre rail of a dresser, the top of a door, a drawer front, a headboard or a fireplace frieze wherever you want a long horizontal accent that pulls the eye to the middle. A few maker notes. The long, thin proportions make workholding the critical detail on a CNC router — tab it generously or cut it on a spoilboard so the slender scroll ends do not lift mid-cut. A tapered ball-nose gets down into the tight spiral eyes, while a fine stepover keeps the domed oval glassy. In resin it prints crisply flat-backed; on FDM, print face-up and sand the reverse flat for a clean glue line. Wipe a dark glaze into the recesses so the scrollwork reads from across the room, or gild just the central oval for a single bright focal point.
