Description

A symmetrical burst of scrolling leaves and curls unfurling from a central bloom. This horizontal onlay mirrors itself around a small central flower-bud: from that heart, slender stems sweep outward into tight C-scrolls and rolling volutes, sprouting acanthus-style leaf tips, fine tendrils and a pair of upright leafy sprays at the ends. The relief is shallow and flowing, its polished raised surfaces rippling gently rather than cutting deep. It is designed as an applied ornament — a crest for the top of a mirror or cabinet door, a header above a window or headboard, a furniture appliqué, or a picture-frame flourish. The long, low, mirror-symmetric layout makes it ideal for capping a rectangular panel or running along a lintel. Cut notes • A shallow relief like this suits a 3-axis router with a fine tapered ball-nose; a follow-up detail pass with a small bit sharpens the inner scroll curls. • Keep the leaf tips and tendrils from tapering to nothing — thin points chip on end grain and snap on prints, so thicken them a touch in the model if needed. • For 3D printing, lay it flat and print face-up with the back on the bed; the gentle relief needs no supports. • Sand the raised scrolls, then rub gilt wax or a contrasting glaze into the recesses for that carved-and-gilded antique-furniture finish.
