Description

A ribbon of carved leaves that flows like it's caught in a breeze. This vertical onlay is a single sweeping acanthus scroll — a long S-curve of foliage that curls into a tight volute at the top, throws off feathered leaf tips and secondary scrolls down its length, and finishes in a snail-shell coil at the base. It is pure baroque cabinetmaker's decoration: asymmetric, energetic and full of movement, with crisp undercut edges that throw strong shadows across the relief. Use it as a corner or side embellishment on furniture, a drop beneath a mirror or clock, a pilaster accent, or a matched left/right pair flanking a door or headboard (simply mirror the file to make its partner). Route it into oak or walnut, or print it in resin as a ready-to-finish applique. Cut / print notes • On a CNC, rough with a large bit then detail with a fine ball-nose to reach into the leaf overlaps and volute curls. • For 3D printing, lay it flat on the back and add light supports only beneath the raised curls. • Mirror the model in your slicer or CAM to produce a symmetrical opposite for paired installations. • Sand along the direction of the leaf veins and seal before staining so the recesses stay crisp.
