Mirrored Tulip Rosette Onlay

A slender vertical onlay built from mirrored tulips and a single blooming rosette. Read top to bottom, the ornament opens with a teardrop flame framed by a scrolled crest, flows into an upturned tulip fan, settles on a round medallion holding a four-petal rosette at its heart, and then repeats the tulip-and-flame motif inverted below — a perfectly symmetrical drop with curling, calligraphic tips at each end. It is a low-relief decorative appliqué, the kind of applied moulding cabinetmakers glue onto flat surfaces to break up plain panels. Use it to dress a door centre, a headboard, a mirror or clock surround, a fireplace frieze or the stile of a wardrobe — anywhere a plain expanse wants a touch of traditional carving. Making notes: • Carve as a shallow CNC relief on a flat blank, then part it off as a thin onlay for gluing. • A fine tapered ball-nose defines the veined petals and the beaded rosette centre; keep the background flat and clean. • Fruitwood, lime or a tight MDF all machine crisply; it takes paint, wax gilding or a stain-and-glaze beautifully. • On a 3D printer, print it flat, face up, with a smooth top layer, then adhere it straight to the panel.
