Scrolled Medallion Overdoor Crest

A long, low crest that spreads across a doorway like a cresting wave. A wide horizontal onlay built around a central medallion: an oval cartouche framed by a beaded border and crowned with a raised fan or shell, seated on a scrolled bracket. From that centrepiece the ornament flows outward in near-perfect symmetry — pairs of acanthus C-scrolls, feathered leaf sprays, and small five-petalled rosette flowers — thinning to a delicate curled tendril at each far tip. The relief is shallow at the ends and builds to the tall central boss, so the whole thing arcs gently like a pediment. Finished in gold, it has the look of a hand-carved over-mantel. It is intended as a horizontal crest: above a door or window, along the top rail of a headboard or wardrobe, crowning a mirror, or as a fireplace over-mantel feature. Print notes • Long and slim — check your printer bed or CNC blank length, or split it at the centre and butt-join two halves. • Flat backed for gluing straight onto a panel. • CNC in hardwood with a fine ball-nose finishing pass for the rosettes; or resin/FDM print face-up with supports beneath the scroll undercuts. • Prime and gild for a gilt-frame look, or stain to sit quietly against stained timber.
