Description

A lean dragon reared back, jaws wide in a full roar. This miniature captures a slender Western dragon mid-bellow. The long, sinuous neck arches upward to a bony, angular skull with the mouth thrown open, a row of needle teeth and a hooked snout giving it real menace. A ridge of spines runs down the back of the neck, the torso is whippet-lean and predatory, and the tattered membranous wings sweep out and back with clawed leading edges. It stands on powerful clawed limbs, weight pitched forward as though about to lunge, the whole pose full of tension and movement rather than a static perch. The sculpt has a rough, sinewy surface texture that catches light across the muscle and wing folds. It makes a fierce encounter model for a tabletop campaign, a painting project for the display cabinet, or a gift for a dragon-loving gamer. At larger scale it reads as a dramatic centrepiece; at 28–32 mm it fits straight into a skirmish. Print notes: • Resin is strongly recommended to hold the teeth, claws and thin wing skin. • Orient with the belly and wings well supported; the open jaw and outstretched neck want a careful support raft underneath. • Consider printing the wings separately and pinning them to reduce support scarring on the membranes. • After curing, hit it with a warm base coat, a dark wash into the muscle grooves, then dry-brush the ridges and highlight the teeth and claws.
