Armoured Rearing Dragon Miniature

An armour-plated dragon rearing up over its hoard, wings snapped wide. Whatever the code suggests, this model is a fully sculpted dragon miniature. It stands on its hind legs, chest and belly wrapped in overlapping riveted armour plates, a horned and crested head snarling off to one side, membranous wings thrown open behind it, and one clawed forefoot clamped over a spiked ball at its feet. It makes a natural centrepiece for a tabletop RPG or wargame — a boss monster for the party to square up against — and works just as well as a painted display piece for anyone who likes their dragons armoured and mean. Print notes • Resin captures the rivets, scale texture and clawed toes far better than FDM at this size. • Expect to support the outstretched wings, the underside of the jaw and the front leg reaching to the orb; if you can split the wings, pre-separating them makes support removal cleaner. • Hollow the torso and add drain holes to save resin and ease suction off the build plate. • Scale up for a solo centrepiece or down onto a 40–50mm base for rank-and-file play. • Prime dark, drybrush the plate steel, then glaze the wing membranes for a translucent look.
