Description

A serpent-dragon coils around a grinning skull, its wings spread wide enough to close the circle. This is a round wall medallion carved in deep relief. A bat-winged dragon wraps its scaled body and long ribbed tail all the way around a large human skull set at the centre. The horned dragon head rears up near the top, snout lowered protectively over the cranium, while the two leathery wings arc outward and actually form the circular rim of the plaque. The skull owns the lower half of the composition — sunken eye sockets, a broad nasal void and a full grinning row of teeth — and the dragon's tail slips down beneath the jaw, knotting through the open cut-outs at the base. It reads as gothic and a little menacing, exactly the sort of feature piece for a games room, tattoo studio, biker workshop, or a fantasy-themed door. Print notes: • Best cut into a dark hardwood (walnut, wenge) or printed in resin, then dry-brushed to lift the bone tones against shadowed wings. • The undercuts around the tail loops and wing tips are the tricky part on a router — leave a tabbed border and finish those pockets with a tapered ball-nose bit. • For FDM, print face-up flat with tree supports only under the free-floating tail; 0.12mm layers keep the teeth and scale texture crisp. • Roughly circular, so it scales cleanly from a 120mm pendant plaque up to a 400mm wall centrepiece.
