Description

An Eastern dragon rears from its own coils to clutch a flaming pearl. This sculpt is a full Chinese-style dragon wrapped around a shallow bowl or offering dish. The serpentine body — clad head to tail in crisp overlapping scales — spirals up out of the basin, forelegs braced, a clawed hand raised to grip a cloud-wreathed pearl held aloft on a slender neck. A second loop of tail curls back down into the dish rim, and the inner well carries a subtle carp-and-ripple texture, so it works as a trinket tray, an incense-ash catcher, or a purely decorative statement. It's for fans of Asian mythology and dragon collectors: a desk or altar piece, a key-and-coin dish by the door, or a striking shelf sculpture. The up-reaching pose makes it a real conversation centrepiece. Print notes: • Resin is the natural choice for the scale and claw detail; orient the pearl-arm as the highest point and support the underside of the raised limbs and jaw generously. • For FDM, split at the neck if your printer struggles with the overhang, then glue — 0.08–0.12 mm layers keep the scales legible. • The bowl base is broad and stable; print it solid or at high infill so the piece doesn't feel hollow. • A bronze or jade-effect scheme with a dark wash in the scale recesses lifts the detail enormously. Scale up for a bold centrepiece or down for a tidy desk dish.
