Voronoi Wireframe Winged Dragon

A dragon dissolved into open lattice. This figurine is a four-limbed winged dragon caught in a low, prowling stance, wings sweeping wide to either side, twin horns swept back off a lowered head. What sets it apart is the surface: the entire body, wings and base are rendered as a voronoi net, an organic web of struts and open cells so the creature looks skeletal and airy, more caged energy than solid beast. The broad wing membranes become spans of interlaced webbing, and it perches on a matching round honeycomb-cell plinth that ties the whole sculpture together. It is a striking display piece for a shelf, desk or games room, and a favourite with anyone who likes the mesh-sculpture aesthetic over conventional smooth minis. The wide wingspan makes it a genuine centrepiece. Print notes • Resin is the natural choice here: the fine voronoi struts and open cells resolve far more cleanly than on an FDM nozzle. • Expect heavy support under the outstretched wings and the head; use light, densely-spaced tips and pull them while the print is fresh. • If printing FDM, scale up so each strut stays above nozzle width, and slow the outer walls to avoid stringing across the gaps. • The base is pre-modelled, so orient the whole thing on a slight tilt to protect the wing tips, then cure and finish in a metallic or stone tone to emphasise the webbing.
