Description

A classic four-legged dragon caught mid-stance, wings thrown wide. This model is a traditional western dragon standing squarely on four clawed feet, both leathery wings stretched to full span as though it has just dropped down to land. The head is crowned with a fan of swept-back horns and spines, the muzzle narrow and snarling; a jagged ridge of plates runs from the arched neck all the way down the spine and out along the whip-thin tail, which flares into a spiked fin at the tip. The wing membranes, folded leg muscle and rows of belly scales are cleanly defined, so it holds up well from any viewing angle. It makes a natural centrepiece for a tabletop RPG encounter, a boss creature for fantasy skirmish games, or a display sculpture for painters who want plenty of scaled surface and webbing to work across. Print notes • Resin (SLA/DLP) pulls the sharpest detail from the horns, teeth and scale rows; FDM copes well at larger scale with a 0.2 mm nozzle. • The outstretched wings and open belly need support — angle the tail and one wing upward, or split the wings at the shoulder joint for a cleaner underside. • Scales happily to a shelf statement piece or down to 28-32 mm for gaming; hollow bigger prints to save resin. • A grey primer coat before painting makes the raised scales sing under a drybrush.
