Description

A snarling dragon rears up over a row of long, tapering teeth. The head is pure Eastern mythology — a broad snout with flaring nostrils, curled whiskers, a bristling mane and a wide-open jaw crowded with fangs, all carved in the round and cantilevered off a flat backing plate. Below that plate, five slim prongs sweep down like the teeth of a comb, giving the piece its striking two-part silhouette: a ferocious, detail-packed crest above, clean parallel lines below. It works as a dramatic decorative comb or hair ornament, or — screwed to a wall — as a sculptural hook rail or statement plaque where the prongs read as a stylised flourish. Either way, the contrast between the busy head and the plain fanned teeth is exactly what makes it land. Print notes: • The head carries serious overhangs and undercuts around the jaw and whiskers — resin printing captures the fangs and scales best; add fine supports beneath the chin and lower jaw. • For FDM, lay the backing plate flat with the head lifted, and use tree supports to keep the face crisp. • On a rotary CNC the head can be cut in the round, while the comb teeth suit a flat 2.5D profile pass — run a fine bit and light feed so the thin prongs don't snap. • Sand and seal the teeth thoroughly if it'll be handled; smooth prongs are both safer and noticeably stronger.
