Description

A kneeling maiden clutches a great scaled fish to her body, part folklore, part fantasy. This one is a figurative sculpture rather than the lattice panel its tags suggest. A nude woman kneels back on her heels, face lifted and long braided hair falling past her shoulders. Across her torso she cradles a large fish or sea-creature — its gaping, toothy head rearing up by her collarbone while a heavily textured, knobbly scaled body drapes diagonally down across her lap, the studded scales providing both decoration and a measure of modesty. Her hands grip the creature low, anchoring the composition. It reads like a river-spirit or fisher-goddess motif. The contrast is the whole appeal: soft, smooth skin against the rough, bumpy hide of the fish. It's a display figurine for collectors of mythic and fantasy art, at home on a plinth or in a lit cabinet. Print notes • Resin is the right call — the scale texture and the fish's teeth are exactly the fine detail that separates a crisp print from mush. • Kneeling poses can be top-heavy; keep the base broad and support the fish's rearing head and the outer arm where they overhang. • Print at 120mm+ to do the scale pattern justice, or scale down for a tabletop NPC. • Prime, then split your palette: warm skin tones against a cool, wet-looking green or bronze for the fish makes the texture pop.
