Winged Dragon Treasure Casket

A watchful wyrm crouches over its hoard, wings half-furled and jaw thrust forward in a low snarl. This piece marries a fully modelled dragon to an ornate strongbox beneath it, the two reading as one sculptural guardian. The beast sits back on its haunches, a spined crest running from brow along the ridged spine, scaled flanks catching the light, and a long snout parted mid-growl. Every face of the casket below is worked in heavy relief: snarling dragon heads bulge from the corners and clawed feet plant themselves at the base, so the creature seems to have grown straight up out of the chest it protects. It earns its keep as a desk centrepiece, a lidded trinket or dice container for tabletop nights, or the anchor of a fantasy shelf beside blades and old tomes. The deep cornice and corner heads throw strong side-shadows that make the whole thing feel carved from stone. Print notes: • Size it around 120-160 mm tall so the face, crest and corner heads resolve cleanly. • Resin: lean the dragon slightly back, support the outstretched wing edge and the underside of the jaw; the box body prints flat with light contact supports on the overhanging lip. • CNC: treat lid and body as separate multi-side reliefs and assemble, rather than fighting one solid billet. • Smooth the wing membranes and scale field before painting; a bronze or verdigris drybrush over dark primer sells the aged-treasure look.
