Rearing Scaled River Dragon

A crocodilian dragon caught mid-rear, jaws cracked wide in a silent bellow. Sculpted with a long, S-curving neck and a heavy, ridged spine, this beast reads as something between a river leviathan and a classic wyrm — pebbled, scaly hide across the belly, knotted muscle along the flanks, and a double row of dagger teeth lining an open maw. Splayed clawed feet and gnarled limbs give it a lunging, off-balance menace, as though it is hauling itself up out of the water at you. It suits a dungeon or swamp encounter as a monster centrepiece, a display bust for a painter's shelf, or a boss model to tower over 28mm heroes. The rough, organic surface takes ink washes beautifully, pooling in the scale texture to pick out every ridge. Print notes: • Resin (SLA/DLP) is the way to capture the teeth and claw detail; FDM will soften the finer texture. • Print at a slight backward tilt and support the underside of the jaw, the reaching forelimbs and the tail tip — those are the overhangs that will sag. • Hollow the torso and add a drain hole to save resin on a model this chunky. • Scale freely: shrink it for a tabletop threat or blow it up for a shelf-sized statement piece.
