Roaring Dragon Head Bust

A roaring dragon caught in mid-snarl, jaws flung wide. Forget the tidy geometric pattern the code number might suggest — this is a fierce reptilian head-and-shoulders bust. Swept-back ridged horns curl from the brow, a spiny crest runs down the neck, rows of dagger teeth line the gaping mouth, and pebbled scales and small curved spikes armour the throat and shoulder. The sculpt is all texture and menace, lit here to show off every wrinkle and fang. It is a centrepiece for tabletop gamers, fantasy collectors and anyone building a dragon-themed shelf or wall. Printed solid it is a display bust; carved as high relief it becomes a dramatic wall trophy or door plaque. Print notes • Resin is the natural choice — the scale detail and needle-fine teeth turn mushy on coarse FDM layers. • Orient the head tilted back so the open mouth and horns are as self-supporting as possible; expect supports inside the jaw, under the chin and beneath the horn tips. • The rough underside suggests a wall-mount or plinth cut; add a keyhole slot or magnet pocket if you want it hanging. • Prime grey, then dry-brush the raised scales and horn ridges over a dark base to make the texture leap out; a gloss wash inside the mouth adds a wet, threatening sheen. • For a CNC relief version, flatten the back, carve in a dense hardwood and finish the teeth by hand.
