Watchful Western Dragon Bust

A watchful dragon rears its head, jaws parted and spines bristling. This bust sculpts the head and upper neck of a classic western dragon: a broad reptilian skull with a heavy brow, a slightly open maw lined with pointed teeth, and a fan of horns and quills sweeping back from the crown and jaw. Print notes • Resin is the natural pick for the scale and tooth detail; slice at 0.03 to 0.05 mm and support the jaw, horns and the underside of the chin. • For FDM, print upright at 0.12 mm; a little tree support handles the horn tips and open mouth. • The chunky base is a good spot to hollow and add a weight for a stable, shelf-steady bust. • Undercoat grey, then dry-brush the scales and pick out the teeth and eyes; a green-bronze or bone palette both suit it.
