A serene, many-faced deity ringed by a blazing sun. This circular relief centres on a calm, downward-gazing face, closed eyes and a soft half-smile, framed by two profile faces emerging to either side that give the piece a quiet trinity presence. A jewelled crown sits above the brow, its central medallion carved as a stylised peepal leaf, with beaded bands and long tasselled ear ornaments spilling down each cheek. Around the portrait runs a dense band of fine radial rays, closed off by a bold saw-tooth sunburst edge that reads strongly from right across a room. Cut as a wall roundel it suits a meditation corner, home shrine, yoga studio or a spiritually themed feature wall, and the tiered depth makes it a rewarding showpiece carve. CNC notes: • Set up for relief routing: a 3D roughing pass with a ball-nose bit, then a fine finishing pass at a small stepover to resolve the eyelids, tassels and rays. • Hardwoods such as walnut, sapele or oak hold the crisp rim detail best; the radial band benefits from a small-diameter tapered ball-nose. • Mind the deep pockets between the sunburst teeth, where a longer bit avoids collet rub on thicker stock. • Finish with a wipe of oil to deepen the shadows in the recesses, or gild the outer teeth for a temple-style contrast.
