One clawed forelimb reaches out to cradle a round pearl — the mythic emblem of wisdom and fortune — while the rest of the beast loops over a rocky ground line into a fanned, finned tail. Deep undercuts around the head and the crisp scale texture along the spine give the piece genuine depth, so it still reads from across a room.
