Low-Poly Dragon Spire Sculpture

A faceted dragon spiralling up a splintered peak. Despite the routing-style code, this is a fully three-dimensional low-poly sculpture: an eastern-style dragon with a horned, long-jawed head coils three times around a jagged rock spire. Every surface is built from flat triangular facets, so the scaled body reads as a band of crisp geometric plates winding up the stone, and the head rears back at the top with swept-back horns and a spiky mane. The rock core is left in the same angular origami style, tapering to a rough tip and flaring to a chunky base that lets the whole piece stand on its own. That crystalline, papercraft look makes it a striking modern desk sculpture, bookshelf centrepiece or gift for a dragon fan who prefers a contemporary geometric aesthetic over realism. It also paints beautifully in flat metallics or faceted gradients. Print notes: • FDM loves this one: the flat facets slice cleanly and hide layer lines, so a 0.2 mm layer height looks great with no need for fine resin detail. • Print upright as modelled; the rock provides a stable footprint. Support the underside of each coil and the horns, or split the model at the base if your printer struggles with the overhanging loops. • Scale to roughly 150-200 mm tall for the best presence; the angular geometry stays clean when enlarged. • Try a single filament with a glossy top-coat, or mask and spray the coils and rock in contrasting tones to emphasise the low-poly banding.
